“God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers.” – Rudyard Kipling. This quote couldn’t be any truer. Mothers hold a really special place in everybody’s life and for good reason. They literally give birth to you and go through intense pain and suffering to do that. They happily make all the compromises just so that their children and family can be happy.
The Significance of Mums
You don’t need anybody to tell you what your mother really means to you. She is special and there’s nothing you wouldn’t do for her. But the role of mothers extends much further than we think. Their involvement in your early years can literally shape how you turn out to be when you become an adult. So, in a way, mothers have the power to shape how the entire human race turns out to be.
Of course, there are other factors involved as well, but you simply can’t ignore their important role in the upbringing of their children. The life lessons they impart throughout your lives can prepare you for any challenges that you might face. Their love and support are always present in abundance and provide you with the confidence and backing you need to take the world head-on.
Mothers are also usually the glue that holds a family together. Psychology says that mothers are the emotional backbone of a family and that is quite insightful. They can be loving as well as stern and will do anything to keep you on the right path. They allow you to grow into your own selves by providing you with your own safe space while at the same time maintaining boundaries. Only mothers can strike that perfect balance.
Truly, the importance of being a mum and their contributions to society cannot be stressed enough. Here’s to all the mums out there and all that they do, day in and day out.
